Indian Institute of Technology ((IT) Patna recently launched a full-time degree program in AI and Data Science that will equip students to handle large volumes of data and develop AI-focussed algorithms. IITs are to going to introduce BTech in AI to make artificial intelligence into the mainstream of the learning process. BTech in AI and Data Science program is also being offered by IIT Guwahati and IIT Hyderabad. Course structure and seats
BTech in artificial intelligence and data science course is a more advanced form of BTech computer science, this curriculum is intended for students who are curious about the dynamics of algorithms and data structures. At IIT Patna, there are 36 seats available for BTech AI and Data Science. Eight semesters make up the four-year, full-time undergraduate curriculum. Candidates must take six to seven required courses each semester in addition to their choice of electives. In the first semester, candidates must also take part in any cultural events, the National Cadet Corps (NCC), the National Social Service (NSS), or both. Candidates will be introduced to the fundamental engineering branches throughout the first semester. Electrical sciences, engineering mechanics, computer architecture, machine learning, data science, artificial intelligence, operating systems, computer networks, big data analytics, and big data security are some of the topics that students will study in this course.
Eligibility criteria
Admission to BTech in artificial intelligence and data science programs will be done on the basis of JEE Advanced score. Additionally, candidates must have completed the class 12 (or equivalent) examination from any recognized state or central board.
Course fees
For candidates in the general and OBC categories, the cost of the BTech program is Rs 1 lakh each semester. Students who fall under the SC/ST category are not charged. The complete tuition fee will be waived for the most economically disadvantaged students (those whose family income is below Rs 1 lakh annually). The other economically disadvantaged children would receive a 2/3 tuition fee refund if their family income is between Rs 1 lakh and Rs 5 lakh per year.
